A mountain play with mountain music!

It’s Christmas Eve in 1955 at a small town train depot where the snowy weather has caused some delays. Over the course of the evening, strangers become friends, friends become family, and the warmth of human connection is deepened through stories and songs. Though the weather outside is frightful, inside the depot it’s delightful as memories of Christmases past are shared. A World Premiere play with original bluegrass music played live onstage by members of Buncombe Turnpike and Sons of Ralph.

When the weather outside is frightful, Catawba Brewing Co - South Slope Tasting Room & Brewery and Asheville Community Theatre have thought of a way to make it more delightful!

Catawba Brewing will release Snowbound Winter Warmer, a new seasonal beer celebrating the world premiere of SNOWBOUND on stage at ACT. Join us for the Beer Launch Party on Thursday, November 17 at Catawba's South Slope location. The party will begin at 5:30 pm and all are invited. Members of Buncombe Turnpike and Sons of Ralph will also provide live music from 6:00-7:00 pm.

Snowbound Winter Warmer will be available at all three Catawba tasting rooms while supplies last, and at the ACT concession stand during SNOWBOUND’s run on stage.

“Asheville is known for being an arts town and a beer town. We’re thrilled to partner with Catawba Brewing to link local beer with local theatre and music,” said Susan Harper, Asheville Community Theatre’s Executive Director. “Plus, we’re pretty excited to try Snowbound Winter Warmer!”

SNOWBOUND is written by Tom Godleski and is directed by Mark Jones. The play opens Dec. 2 and runs through Dec. 18, with performances Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm.
